When Falsely Accused

The great thing when you are falsely accused of doing something (I have been falsely accused of doing something recently) is that it reminds you of how Jesus must have felt when he was falsely accused of all sorts of things, both in his life and towards the end, and was ultimately crucified as a result.

Despite the severe injustice of His situation He never lost His temper and never answered back unlovingly. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter instead.

Wow, is all I can say. What a man and what a God. Jesus is simply awesome – simply epic!

  1. Ryan, you were simply operating under the faulty assumptions that:
    1. The person who accused you is in any way interested in what you have to say.
    2. They are willing to listen to you.

Unfortunately, these are hallmarks of this particular person’s interactions with others, and very little to do with you.

One day I’d like to find someone who has the same presuppositions as her, but with opposite opinions, and stick ’em in a cage fight.

    hello Ryan

I am the Lauren you have been accused of being. I am very sorry for this situation. I have no idea what an IP addess is or how we can have the same one. I have deleted my blog : girl with a gap. And you are right that Jesus was always loving. It’s incredible.

    Matthew 5:11-12

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

  3. Hey Lauren,

This is really not your fault at all 🙂 Don’t worry about it. I’ve been thinking of popping over at your blog and letting you know that none of this was your fault at all and you shouldn’t take what’s going on at that other blog personally one little bit.

How our IP addresses were similar or the same I’m not sure about, except that we may live in the same area and perhaps Telkom (who use dynamic IP) are just assigning us similar IP’s. For all you know we’re neighbours! (I don’t even know who my neighbours are, actually…).

My IP changed within two comments sent to that site in two minutes apart from each other (apparently) so it’s probably something to do with Telkom.

Anyway, I actually felt pretty bad because in my opinion you got caught in the middle of what was the owner of that blog’s attempt to try and find something to tag me on and ban me from their blog. Since there has been really nothing to nail me on it was really convenient for them when our IP’s were similar.

At the blog I see that she has apologised for thinking we’re the same person, but believes we’re now in cahoots. Cahoots to do what, I don’t know, but it doesn’t really matter.

At least they have taken down the name-calling where I was called a number of horrible things for doing something that they have realised I haven’t done, but now they’re name calling Roger for being ‘unloving’ with his comments above. I doubt Roger will take it personally – one can see that many of the comments about others on that blog are not particularly loving at many times. There’s never really an apology there when people let emotions get the better of them.

My personal communication with them at that blog has been a little confusing. I think Deborah, who runs the blog, is actually a wonderful person and has a great testimony and loves Jesus very much. I also think that Amanda over there loves Jesus very much too.

I think they really do love the truth, but I think they have been sucked into an elitist religious system that is very Pharisaical. Unfortunately, though, when you try and fight against that system or try and let them see the holes of that system then they take it personally and at the same time you are accused of being new-age and a hundred other things.

The system is something akin to witch-hunting. The system is a very manipulative one and it manipulates them into being highly suspicious of everyone and into thinking that they (and they alone) hold the truth. When one agrees with them on the basics, they still don’t believe you also hold to the truth because you’re not part of their ‘club’. That’s what the system teaches them to do. That’s why I call it elitist.

We should never get all personal about these things. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities, cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places (Eph 6:12).

My initial (out-of-shock) reaction to this situation was probably not entirely good either. I openly called Deborah “full of nonsense” and manipulative. I apologise for that, as I should have rather highlighted the real problem – which is not them, it’s this horrible religious system they have got themselves stuck in.

But I don’t apologise for anything else because these are false accusations being placed on us.

Please don’t take your blog down because you felt it offended me or anything… and don’t take it down for them as you have done nothing wrong whatsoever. My conscience is clear and I’m sure yours is too. They need to deal with their own conscience over this situation.

I particularly enjoyed the ‘Hound of Heaven’ post at your blog 🙂

    Hello,

Hound of Heaven was written by francis Thompsin.

my blog is up and running again. 🙂

    Ezekiel 36:26
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

  5. Lauren, glad your blog is up again – it would be a pity to take it down simply because some people like flaming others online.

Ryan, in my work as a professional IT consultant I’ve seen this once before. An entire company got locked out of their own website because of a hacking attempt – we locked down the IP address of the hacker; unfortunately the hacker was behind a firewall which was routing TCP/IP packets to the correct recipients when it received them, and the company’s computers were behind the same network (i.e. one of their employees was hacking) – however, from the outside, all computers within that network had a single IP address, so when we locked down one, EVERYONE was denied access. i.e. multiple computers all had the same IP address.

In other words, it’s possible that the same IP addresses appear for different people, and so it’s possible that you and Lauren could comment from the same IP address. If Deborah did some homework (or talked to a competent network specialist) she’d find out that this can indeed happen. I wouldn’t expect an apology from her, though.

Deborah (I’m sure you’ll read this, as my cooked goose on DTW is still smoking), my comments weren’t meant to be unloving – they were meant to be sincere. I sincerely desire to see you in a cage fight with someone else who cares as little as you do about accuracy. I would pay good money to see you fight it out, Brazilian jiu-jitsu-style, with somebody else who has such a strong version of their “truth” that it doesn’t matter what has happened in reality, because the version in their head over-writes actuality. I’d love to see this submission fight, because for the first time you can stand up and back your accusations and your delusions (your words) with action, in the real world (not just in the Matrix). And, for the first time, other people can see you, and speak to you, and cheer for you, and boo you, because, for the first time, we’re all under the same roof.

If you were to step up and, like the Lion in The Wizard of Oz, get some courage (for a change), I forsee a great future for you in the Power Team. Show how the Truth has Set You Free by breaking those handcuffs of inconvenient reality! Tear up the phone book of Emerging Lies…for Jesus! Bend that frying pan of invites-for-actual-conversation-from-dangerous-people! Blow up the Emergent hot water bottle of deception, before another person cuddles up in bed with it! Show off your acts of strength…and keep people afraid of you!

Alas, my dream of “And in this coooooorner….Discern THIS!” will never happen, because you cowardly hide behind your anonymity, which is why no-one outside your circle of disciples takes you seriously.

  6. Hey Roger,

Yeah, I’ve heard of guys getting booted out of forums because of IP addresses being the same.

At any rate, it really doesn’t bug me. My conscience has always been clear and for me that’s what really matters 🙂

It’s a matter of convenience for those guys not to comment here – to critique at their website without ever working things out in relationship is just very convenient and safe for them. As you mentioned. I sometimes wonder if the point of that site is really to help or just to brag about their elite status as the ‘protectors of the truth’. Only they know their hearts… and so does the Lord.

LOL at that link about watching 26 hours of TBN! Ha ha, man, I take my hat off to them for managing that!
